Plant City begins negotiations for 'game-changing' 17-acre Midtown project

Plant City could finally be moving forward on a project worth more than $110 million adjacent to its historic downtown.

On Monday, Plant City commissioners, meeting as the Community Redevelopment Agency, unanimously authorized City Manager Bill McDaniel to begin negotiations with St. Petersburg-based Mosaic Development regarding its 17-acre Midtown project. The city has been attempting to develop the site for years, with five former iterations falling through before construction could begin.
