Developer plans hundreds of apartments near Sarasota airport

A Winter Park developer is proposing over 300 multifamily units in Manatee County, one of many new housing developments coming to the area.

Hillpointe submitted a Southwest Florida Water Management District permit for 288 apartments and 34 townhomes, or 322 total units, off of Tallevast Road. The community, called Sarasota Tallevast Multifamily, will span 18 acres on agricultural land. Such applications are often the first step toward development.
