Developer behind SkyTown sues to block competitor's apartment complex across the street

After a failed attempt to appeal a more than 600-unit apartment development in South St. Petersburg, a rival developer is taking its plea to court.

Altis Cardinal, the developer behind SkyTown in South St. Petersburg, sought an appeal for Kolter Multifamily’s 619-unit apartment complex proposed for the St. Petersburg College Allstate Campus, which sits across 34th Street from Altis’ development. St. Petersburg City Council denied the appeal in May, but the SkyTown developer said it would explore its options.
