Demolition begins to make way for luxury condos in downtown Tampa

A Naples real estate developer has begun demolishing an old office tower in downtown Tampa where the firm plans to build luxury condos.

D.H. Griffin Wrecking Co. Inc. of Plant City started demolishing the office tower at 601 N. Ashley Drive last week. Stock Development, based in Naples, bought the tower for $40 million in 2025. The office tower on the .97-acre site was built in 1925 and has been targeted for redevelopment since 2021.
