Industrial development in West-Central Florida remains strong

Developers added more than 6 million square feet of industrial space over the last year throughout the Central Florida area, stretching from Tampa Bay through Orlando, according to Colliers. Additionally, there are another 5.9 million square feet currently under construction.

Within the Tampa Bay area, the biggest region for industrial development is the Polk County/Plant City area, with nearly 1 million square feet currently under construction. This is followed by Pasco and Hernando, which have just under 800,000 square feet under construction and mid-Pinellas, with 433,881 square feet.
