Ikea to open in Sarasota

Swedish homewares giant Ikea will open its sixth Florida store in Sarasota.

Ikea, which has its U.S. headquarters in suburban Philadelphia, said Friday it will take over a 48,000-square-foot showroom in University Town Center that was previously home to Christmas Tree Shops. It is slated to open in late summer.
