St. Petersburg rejects 12-story luxury tower along Pinellas Bayway

St. Petersburg officials have denied plans to turn the last major piece of undeveloped land along the Pinellas Bayway into a 12-story condominium tower.

The city’s Development Review Commission voted unanimously to deny a height variance, which would’ve increased the allowable height from 85 to 150 feet, and a site plan modification for the 96-unit condo building adjacent to Eckerd College. Marina Bay Residence was planned in the Marina Bay community for the only remaining location along the Pinellas Bayway zoned for residential development.
