Tampa Theatre starts multimillion-dollar modernization project

The historic downtown Tampa Theatre is set to undergo a significant renovation.

The theater recently started the first phase of a restoration and modernization project to upgrade the inside and outside of the building at 711 N. Franklin St., totaling $24.5 million. This renovation is part of a larger $30 million capital initiative called the Second Century Campaign, which focuses on preservation, education and enhanced patron experiences, according to a release.
