Contractor pulls crane from long-stalled apartments in downtown Tampa

The construction crane that stood on the site of a long-stalled apartment tower in downtown Tampa has come down after efforts to redesign and restart the project were unsuccessful.

Sean Ouellette, president and COO of Kast Construction, confirmed to the Tampa Bay Business Journal on Thursday that the general contractor was removing the crane from X Tampa, which sits at North Florida Avenue and East Zack Street. Kast is now working to reopen the sidewalks surrounding the construction site.
