Clearwater developer plans three-story restaurant in downtown Gulfport

A coastal-themed restaurant could soon rise on a vacant lot on downtown Gulfport's waterfront.

Clearwater-based Prometheus Partners, which has acquired more than 15 acres in St. Petersburg’s Old Southeast neighborhood, plans to build a three-story, 4,200-square-foot restaurant called Surf Shack at 5427 Shore Blvd. S in Gulfport, according to an application filed with the Southwest Florida Water Management District on Monday. The restaurant would be between restaurants O’Maddy’s Bar and Grille and Stormrunners Tavern and a block south of Pia’s Trattoria.
