Proposed apartment tower in downtown St. Pete faces setback

Plans for a 21-story apartment tower in downtown St. Petersburg may need to be revised before receiving city approval.

The St. Petersburg Development Review Commission deferred a vote to approve Stadler Development’s site plan for the 21-story, 370-unit tower on Fifth Avenue North, which is slated to cost $134 million. The 1.3-acre site currently consists of 10 parcels with seven small apartment buildings that will need to be demolished for the luxury apartments and 3,819 square feet of ground-floor commercial space to rise.
