Sale of St. Pete-based Foot Locker to Dick's Sporting Goods inches toward closing

Foot Locker Inc.'s shareholders have voted to approve Dick's Sporting Goods Inc.'s offer to buy the company, according to an announcement by the St. Petersburg-based shoe retailer.

The shareholder vote comes after western Pennsylvania-based Dick's announced in May an agreement to buy Foot Locker, a move expected to enable Dick's to add a mall store component to its larger holdings without any major changes to its big-box real estate prototype.
