King of the Coop returns to Seminole Heights

Nebraska Mini Mart's burgers, fries and shakes are out in Seminole Heights — and King of the Coop's fried chicken is back in.

The Tampa-based fried chicken concept has signed a lease to take over the Nebraska Mini Mart space on North Nebraska Avenue, owner Joe Dodd said Tuesday. King of the Coop launched in Seminole Heights in 2019; in 2020, Dodd offered a portion of his space to Wicked Oak Barbeque. By 2022, Wicked Oak had taken over the entirety of the original King of the Coop space, and King of the Coop had moved into a dual-concept space it shared with Westshore Pizza that was known as Flocale.
