South Carolina firm buys East Tampa site for redevelopment

A South Carolina developer that's been active in Tampa Bay for years has picked up a site in East Tampa where it plans to build a 115,000-square-foot warehouse and distribution facility.

An entity linked to Johnson Development Associates Inc. of Spartanburg, South Carolina, paid $2.73 million for 8.07 acres at the northeast corner of East Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and Orient Road, Hillsborough County property records show. Tampa Sheds – Pope’s Utility Buildings & Storage Solutions currently occupies the property but is planning to relocate its operations.
