Water Street placemaking consultants make first development play in South Tampa

The Maryland placemaking consultants who helped shape Water Street Tampa are making their first foray into development by acquiring a South Tampa strip center.

Of Place, which has also consulted on Gasworx, Related Group's Riverwalk district, Tampa General Hospital's medical district and the Central City YMCA redevelopment in Tampa Heights, has purchased St. Croix Plaza, a commercial property that straddles South MacDill Avenue in South Tampa's Bayshore Beautiful neighborhood. The property includes a 15,320-square-foot retail center on the west side of South MacDill and West Knight avenues, as well as the 12,520-square-foot strip of executive office suites on the east side of that intersection.
