Moffitt Cancer Center's Pasco campus will include high-tech cold storage for research specimens

Moffitt Cancer Center’s Pasco County campus will be home to a high-tech cold storage facility that houses biospecimens — an amenity that the health system’s leadership says will be a boon to its research programs.

The 30,000-square-foot facility, also known as a “freezer farm,” will be able to house specimens in temperatures from 23 degrees to negative 200 degrees. It will break ground in the coming weeks as part of the first phase of Speros FL, which is what Moffitt has dubbed its 775-acre Pasco County campus that anchors master-planned community Angeline.
