National developer closes on 74 acres in Tarpon Springs, lands $68 million loan

A Houston-based developer has closed on approximately 74 acres in Tarpon Springs and landed a $67.7 million loan to facilitate the construction of a riverfront apartment complex.

The Morgan Group purchased the vacant site on U.S. Highway 19 from Walmart on Dec. 26 for $8.125 million, according to Pinellas County property records. It received the loan from PNC Bank, records show.
