Lakeland seeks construction manager for Detroit Tigers' $33M dorms

Lakeland is taking the next step toward building a new $33 million dormitory facility for the Detroit Tigers.

The city released a request for qualifications for the project in late November. The project will replace Fetzer Hall — originally built in 1967 — and will include the construction of a new four-story building with 76 player dorm rooms, a recreation room, administrative offices, lobby, 200-seat dining room, commercial kitchen, commercial laundry area, barber shop and multipurpose rooms, according to the RFQ.
