Tropicana Field's repair estimate tops $55 million

A team of engineers has determined that Tropicana Field can be saved in time for the 2026 baseball season — at an estimated cost of $55.7 million.

Hennessy Construction Services and AECOM Hunt on Monday submitted a 412-page report to the city of St. Petersburg, which owns the hurricane-damaged stadium. The damage assessment said the Tampa Bay Rays' stadium "appears structurally sound and would be a viable candidate to continue to serve the city."
