Veteran broker to lead JLL's hotels group from Tampa

A veteran hotel broker will lead JLL Inc.’s hotels and hospitality group from Tampa.

JLL said Wednesday that it has hired Daniel Peek as president of its Americas Hotels and Hospitality Group. Peek most recently served as president and chief operating officer at Hodges Ward Elliott, overseeing a global team. Prior to joining HWE, Peek was with HFF for 12 years but left shortly before JLL closed on its acquisition of HFF in 2019.

During his time at HFF, Peek was behind some of the most significant hotel sales in Tampa Bay history, from downtown convention hotels to beachfront resort properties.

Peek will report to Americas Capital Markets CEO Mark Gibson and partner with Kevin Davis, Americas CEO of the Americas hotel group at JLL.

“Over my past 25 years working in hotel capital markets, I’ve had the honor of working with some of the finest people in our industry, all of whom contributed to my personal and professional success,” Peek said in a statement. “I am thrilled to be joining such a powerful global brand and platform and look forward to working alongside Kevin and the entire JLL team as we drive the growth of this extraordinary business.”

In 2023, two Tampa-based HFF brokers joined Peek at HWE.

“I have had the privilege of previously working alongside Dan for over a decade, and I have witnessed firsthand his remarkable capabilities,” Gibson said in a statement. “His extensive experience, unparalleled dedication and team-oriented mindset make him an ideal addition to our Americas Hotels’ leadership team.”

Peek is a graduate of Cornell University’s School of Hotel Administration. His professional memberships include the Urban Land Institute and its Hotel Development Council, the American Hotel and Lodging Association Investment Roundtable, the board of trustees of the AHLA Foundation and the advisory board of the Cornell Real Estate and Finance Center.
