KB Home scoops up hundreds of acres in Pasco County

A national homebuilder has purchased 265 acres in Pasco County adjacent to one of its existing communities.

KB Home, based in Los Angeles, paid $6.55 million for the land, which is in Hudson north of State Road 52 and west of Hays Road in Shady Hills.

The homebuilder is planning to build the Preserve at Legends Pointe community, with 255 single-family homes, a community pool, cabana and playground, according to Cara Kane with KB Home. The homes will range from 1,200 to 3,000 square feet and preliminary pricing will start at $295,000.

Development will begin in September and the community is expected to open in 2025. The property is adjacent to Legends Pointe, a subdivision KB Home also built.

Michael Strahan of Tampa-based Eshenbaugh Land Co. facilitated the sale. The sale closed on Aug. 16. It is north of Hays Road Town Center, which is anchored by Publix Super Markets Inc., and near a Withlacoochee River Electric Cooperative office.
