Waste Pro to consolidate Pinellas County operations at new site

Waste Pro of Florida has picked up two adjacent parcels in Pinellas Park for a combined $12.1 million, according to Pinellas County deeds.

The trash collection company purchased the property from AAA Service Co., a local demolition contractor.

A spokesperson said that Waste Pro plans to consolidate its Pinellas County operations at the new site. The spokesperson didn't say what it plans to do with its current facility at 5170 126th Ave. N in Clearwater.

The private company — one of Central Florida's largest with a projected $1.4 billion in 2024 revenue — operates a variety of solid waste facilities across the Southeast, including landfills and truck transfer stations. It is one of several garbage and recycling options for unincorporated Pinellas County residents, while also serving residents in North Redington Beach, Seminole, Kenneth City and Belleair Beach.

This 11.82-acre site, classified as vacant industrial land in Pinellas County property records, is located just north of the new Gateway Expressway lanes and Pinellas County's solid waste disposal complex.

Jeff Clapacs with Commercial Partners Realty represented Waste Pro, and Cherie Tedesco-Gamble with KW Commercial represented the seller.

Weintraub Recycling, the concrete recycling division of AAA Service Co., previously operated at the site.
