Moxy St. Pete hotel in Edge district to open in June

Moxy St. Pete at the Edge Collective in St. Petersburg will officially be opening its doors in June.

The hotel at 1234 Central Ave. is in the heart of the Edge district and part of the first phase of a 500,000-square-foot mixed-use project from PTM Partners and DoveHill Capital Management.

The first phase includes the completion of the Moxy hotel and the renovation of a historic office and commercial building. Phase two will include 350 residential units via a 20-story tower and a seven-story building. There will also be 20,000 square feet of retail space and 350 parking spaces.

Opening rates for the 163-room hotel will begin at $249 per night. The hotel will be home to Rose’s Coffee Bar, which will feature La Columbe products and fresh pastries and Bar Moxy, which will offer specialty cocktails and light dishes.

There will also be 1,000 square feet of flexible meeting space and a podcast studio. Sip’ n Dip, the first poolside bar in the area, will be located on the seventh floor. Later this fall, Sparrow, a restaurant featuring Asian-fusion cuisine and craft cocktails, will open. This will be Sparrow’s second location after the success of its launch in Fort Lauderdale.

The Moxy St. Pete will feature art from several Floridian muralists, including “Ashley Cassens, art duo Allison Matherly and Jeffrey Noble known as ‘we are nice’n easy,’ and Douglas Hoekzema, known as HOXXOH,” according to a release.

As part of the mixed-use project, Moxy St. Pete will also include a Solidcore Pilates studio and the music-themed barber shop Floyd’s 99 Barbershop. Other tenants are expected to be announced in the coming months.
