South Florida builder launches third 55-and-up community in Tampa area

GL Homes has launched its third 55-and-up community in the Tampa Bay region, this time in Wesley Chapel.

Sunrise-based GL Homes opened sales for Valencia Ridge on Feb. 24. Valencia Ridge, near the builder’s Winding Ridge community off State Route 56, will have 517 single-story homes. It joins two of GL’s Valencia-branded, 55-and-up communities in the Tampa Bay region: Valencia Lakes and Valencia del Sol, both of which are in Wimauma in South Hillsborough County.

In those two communities, GL Homes said it has sold more than 2,000 homes, plus thousands more in Port St. Lucie, Boynton Beach, Naples and Bonita Beach.

“We are excited to expand our presence in the Tampa Bay area, which continues to attract homebuyers from across the country seeking the Florida lifestyle and the luxury, value and world-class amenities that GL Homes communities are known for,” Misha Ezratti, president of GL Homes, said in a statement.

Floor plans at Valencia Ridge will range from 2,000 to 4,000 square feet. Homes will be priced from the $500,000s to the $800,000s. Amenities include a clubhouse with multiple pools, a restaurant and bar, pickleball and tennis courts and a gym.

“We’re experiencing tremendous demand at all our new communities, especially active adults,” Jill DiDonna, GL Homes’ chief marketing officer, said in a statement. “Many are upsizing rather than downsizing and seeking out communities with extraordinary fitness, entertainment and dining options within a short walk from their home — this is what the Valencia experience provides.”
