Ritz-Carlton Residences on Bayshore has topped out

Ritz-Carlton Residences, Tampa, has reached its full height of 30 stories.

General contractor Coastal Construction on Friday celebrated the topping out of the luxury branded condo tower on Bayshore Boulevard — a construction milestone that comes after 29,000 cubic yards of concrete and more than 2,000 tons of rebar. The amount of glass in the tower, 86,995 square feet, is almost twice as big as Midtown Tampa's Whole Foods Market (48,000 square feet).

It's a tradition in the construction industry to hoist a tree atop a building that has topped out. Coastal raised a magnolia tree to the top of the Ritz tower, which will include 89 condos. The Ritz-Carlton Residences also includes 12 townhouses.

"This is a landmark project in Tampa, and we are very excited to continue delivering high quality and safe work,” Sean DeMartino, Coastal's Central Florida president, said in a statement.

The second phase of the Ritz-Carlton began presales in mid-2022.
