Lennar rolls out 2,100-home community in Manatee County

One of the largest homebuilders in the U.S. is planning a 2,100-home master-planned community in Manatee County.

Lennar, based in Miami, says it is officially selling homes in Prosperity Lakes in Parrish. Prosperity Lakes is over 1,000 acres, and Lennar says it will offer 31 different floor plans within the community.

Steve Smith, Lennar's Tampa division president, said Prosperity Lakes "not only offers ample homeownership opportunities that meet customers' desires across the homebuying spectrum, but it also expands our offering in North Manatee County."

North Manatee County is a popular area for new residential development. A South Florida apartment developer recently closed on land near Ellenton Premium Outlets. That site will be home to 235 apartments.

"This community will become a highly sought-after destination for people looking to move to this area," Smith said in a statement. "We believe the wide array of home designs and community amenities will resonate extremely well with homebuyers and give them an incredible place to call home."

Prosperity Lakes offers townhouses priced from the low $300,000s that range from 1,747 to 2,162 square feet with three to four bedrooms and two bathrooms. The single-family homes will be similarly priced and range from 1,448 to 3,354 square feet with three to five bedrooms and two to four bathrooms.

Lennar hasn't yet revealed pricing for the 55-and-up homes in Prosperity Lakes. Those houses will range from 1,486 to 2,775 square feet with two to three bedrooms and two to three bathrooms.
