Goodyear Rubber Products Inc. will move its corporate headquarters from Central Avenue in St. Petersburg to Clearwater.

The headquarters, which has been at 1912 Central Ave. for years, will officially open in Clearwater at 11301 47th St. N on Feb. 13.

Goodyear opened on Central Avenue near the current headquarters location 75 years ago. Founded by Brooklyn transplants Murray and Jackie Jacobs, the company is owned and operated by their son, Bob Jacobs.

The St. Pete headquarters will close on Feb. 28. The site spans nearly an entire block on Central Avenue and sits across from the Imagine Museum.

The new Clearwater headquarters will include a showroom. Goodyear's ParkerStore on 49th Street in Clearwater will close permanently in anticipation of the move. Additionally, a new store in St. Pete at 1901 First Ave. S is scheduled to open March 1.

The company offers a variety of products, including industrial and hydraulic hose and couplings, sheet rubber and fluid sealing products and conveyor and power transmission belts. Vice President Eric Von Kaenel said the company will continue to grow with new product lines and capabilities that the Clearwater headquarters will make possible.

Goodyear Rubber Products has six locations on the West Coast of Florida — the new Clearwater headquarters and five ParkerStores in Tampa, St. Pete, Bradenton, Fort Myers and Naples.
