TECO's new Midtown Tampa HQ at a glance

Midtown Tampa and Highwoods Properties Inc. have broken ground on Midtown East, an 18-story office tower. TECO will own the majority of the tower in a commercial condominium structure.

Here’s the tower at a glance:

Size: 430,000 square feet

TECO’s portion: 296,000 square feet

Midtown and Highwoods’ jointly owned portion: 134,000 square feet

The players: Brasfield & Gorrie is the general contractor on the office tower; Barr & Barr is the general contractor on the tower’s parking garage
