Construction begins on second phase of Grand Central townhouses in St. Pete

St. Pete Development Co. has broken ground on the second phase of Driftwood on Central, a mixed-use townhome development in the Grand Central district.

Driftwood on Central is an 11-unit development that has six townhomes and five mixed-use buildings. The townhomes were completed during phase one in 2022. Phase two will build the remaining five units. The units are located at the corner of Central Avenue and 29th Street and feature commercial space on the ground floor.

“As the only mixed-use units for sale along Central Avenue, these one-of-a-kind residences are ideal for those seeking a live-work environment,” Nick Janovsky, Premier Sotheby’s International Realty, said in a release. “Moments from popular sights and area amenities, this exceptional community offers an enviable lifestyle in Florida’s renowned Sunshine City.”

St. Pete Development Co. is linked to Julie Kessel, a St. Petersburg doctor.

The townhomes include impact-resistant windows, quartz countertops and walk-in closets. The ground-floor commercial provides a unique element for freelancers or entrepreneurs looking for small-scale office space.

Four of the six townhomes have already sold, according to a release. Pricing begins at $875,000.
