A Miami developer plans to build three luxury condominium towers on the last vacant parcel in the Westshore Yacht Club.

The development, known as Aqua, plans to launch presales in early 2023. The first tower will include 77 condos priced from the mid-$1 millions, according to Smith and Associates Real Estate, which is marketing the condos for sale.

Miami developer Eddie Avila, who was a vice president at Cheezem Development when it built 700 condos between St. Pete and Clearwater, is leading the development team. Avila has also developed Grand Bay Estates on Key Biscayne, Deering Bay Estates and 396 Alhambra, an office tower in Coral Gables.

The condos will face entirely west to maximize sunset views. The 6.1-acre parcel went on the market in 2019; in 2020, it sold for $7.5 million, according to Hillsborough County property records.

“When I first visited the site, I couldn’t believe that a property of this caliber with such an amazing location, views and lifestyle was still available in this market. We are fortunate to have assembled an amazing local team that will now bring Aqua to life,” Avila said in a statement.

Bob Hall of CGHJ, who designed Virage Bayshore and Altura Bayshore, is the architect on the project. The interior design team is IDDI, and the landscape architect is Booth Design Group.
