RETURN TO NEWS INDEX Foundation work for Pendry Tampa's hotel-condo tower to begin by year end Buyers who have reserved Pendry-branded residences in the tower learned this week that “heavy equipment is scheduled to arrive on site before New Year’s to begin drilling pilings for the tower foundation,” Two Roads Development told the Tampa Bay Business Journal.
Moss Construction is the general contractor on the project.
South Florida-based Two Roads said it has signed contracts for condos totaling $160 million, up from $75 million in April. The tower will include 220 guest rooms and suites, as well as 207 Pendry Residences.
The developer also said it has hired Jeff Graves as project director of Pendry Residences Tampa.
“Jeff formerly served with the Legends company that has developed some of the nation’s largest projects, including SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles,” the developer said.
The Pendry property is one of downtown Tampa’s most notorious. In the early aughts, it was slated to become the site of a Trump-licensed 52-story condo tower that became mired in a legal battle and never came to fruition. In 2015, Tampa office landlord Larry Feldman took a swing at developing the site, proposing a mixed-use, 52-story tower with luxury condos above office space.
Two Roads was the second partner Feldman took on for the project; office space was scrapped in 2018. Feldman exited the deal in early 2020, and Two Roads returned condo buyers’ deposits shortly thereafter. Plans for The Pendry were unveiled in late 2021. |
