RETURN TO NEWS INDEX Luxury townhomes are headed to St. Pete’s Innovation District Boston-based The Davis Cos. is bringing the Innovation Townhomes to a 0.9-acre lot at the corner of Sixth Ave. S and Dr. MLK Jr. Street. The project team includes Peregrine Construction Group as the general contractor, and sales are managed by Douglas Elliman’s St. Petersburg office. This team also delivered the Uptown Kenwood project earlier this year.
“With the final phases of Uptown Kenwood nearing completion, we are continuing our expansion in the area with the vision of comfort meeting convenience at the Innovation Townhome project,” Gary Hofstetter, senior vice president at Davis, said in a release. “Downtown St. Petersburg has proven its desirability based on proximity to world-famous beaches, shopping, culinary specialties, the arts, museums and major transportation resources. We are eager to provide housing close to all the Sunshine City has to offer."
Nicoleta Forbes, a Realtor at Douglas Elliman, said the townhomes will be “perfect for those who have a real passion for good living.” Construction began in mid-July, and the team soft launched reservations at the end of August.
Pricing for the townhomes starts in the mid-$700,000s. The homes will have three floors of living space with two- to three-bedroom floor plans. The three floor plans are named after Ben Franklin, Leonardo da Vinci and Thomas Edison.
The Franklin floor plan is the smallest in the community, with approximately 1,857 square feet of living space, two bedrooms and two and a half baths and a loft. It also has a 200-square-foot rooftop patio and a 317-square-foot garage.
The da Vinci has 2,105 square feet of living space with three bedrooms and three and a half baths. It has a 40-square-foot porch, a 352-square-foot rooftop patio and a 425-square-foot garage.
The Edison is the largest floor plan in the community, with approximately 2,499 square feet of living space. It has three bedrooms and three and a half baths, a 44-square-foot porch and a 42-square-foot balcony. It also has a 282-square-foot rooftop patio and a 425-square-foot garage.
Construction will consist of concrete block, and the homes will have hurricane-impact windows and doors.
The Innovation District has become one of the most watched neighborhoods in downtown St. Pete. The area is home to a regional marine reach hub, University of South Florida St. Pete and two hospitals. The ARK Innovation Center is currently under construction there, and several housing developments have been popping up in the district in the last two years. |
