RETURN TO NEWS INDEX Tampa General Hospital opens new Pinellas County Diagnostic Center The center, located at 4949 Fourth St. N, offers urgent care provided by TGH Urgent Care powered by Fast Track and care coordination services, with Tampa General Medical Group offering primary care and TGH Cancer Institute surgical oncology services coming soon.
“The true difference here is customized care navigation,” Chief of TGH Ambulatory Services Adam Smith said in a release. “Whether you are an established patient or just trying to understand more about your health care needs, options, and available resources, our care coordinator is here to help you.”
Care coordinators connect patients with an entire network of specialists and services within Tampa General. Smith said that diagnostic centers are a way to innovate the delivery of health care because they consolidate urgent care, primary care and specialty care services under one roof.
The St. Pete center is approximately 10,000 square feet and, when complete, will have 19 patient exam rooms. This is the 16th TGH Urgent Care powered by Fast Track location in Tampa Bay. The center will provide on-site diagnostic procedures like X-rays, EKGs, drug screens and blood draw, can fill certain prescriptions, and can do pre-employment screenings, physicals and assessments for workers’ compensation injuries.
Primary care services and surgical oncology services will be provided in the coming weeks.
“We’re helping patients get the right care at the right time and at the right place,” Dr. Daron Diecidue, CEO of TGH Urgent Care, said in a release. “Our newest urgent care location delivers medical testing, diagnosis and treatment for non-life-threatening illnesses and injuries close to home for people and families in the area.” |
