Holistic dental practice coming to St. Pete

Natural Smiles of Tampa Bay is moving to St. Petersburg’s Mirror Lake neighborhood.

The holistic dental practice is owned by Dr. Carlo Litano and is currently operating in 860 square feet in Pinellas Park. It will soon be relocating to a 4,400-square-foot office at 132 Mirror Lake Dr. N. The build-out of the first-floor office space is currently underway. According to a release, the company acquired a $2.47 million construction loan from American Momentum Bank.

“We’ve outgrown our current space, and we are taking inspiration from one of our mentors in Switzerland to expand in order to bring a more synergistic delivery of medical and dental care,” Litano said in a release. “With this new, much larger location, we’ll be able to bring on a physician as a medical director and additional associates to serve more patients. In addition to holistic dentistry, we’ll also be able to offer some med-spa type amenities, such as in-office IV therapy.”

Holistic dentistry “takes a whole-body approach to healing patients,” according to the company, and Litano is one of the few in Florida that offers this service. A “large percentage” of his patients fly in from out of state for the care, the release said.

The Grannan Group represented Litano in the lease transaction, and Gerdes Construction is managing the build-out of the space. The new office will “feature full surgical suites with a view of Mirror Lake, a full lab and state-of-the-art technology, like 3D X-rays and 3D printers,” according to the release.

The new location in Mirror Lake is expected to open by spring 2023. Litano has been practicing dentistry for 16 years, and his father, Dr. Mario Litano, will be medical director at the St. Pete location.

“I think St. Pete is ready for a unique dental experience that’s a more direct holistic approach to mind, body and teeth,” Litano said in a release. “This gives us the opportunity to serve a greater number of patients and give more people access to care.”
