RETURN TO NEWS INDEX Property planned for townhome development in Tampa’s Beach Park sells for $16M The parcel, located at 200 S. Hoover Blvd., currently has several office buildings that will be demolished to transform the site into 87 luxury townhomes. The parcel was sold by Wisco 7 LLC and was purchased by DODO Investments LLC. The sale closed on Sept. 14.
James Ramos and Andrew Arena of Ramos Cos., a team under RE/MAX Alliance Group, along with David Freeman of HBP Realty Advisors, represented the seller. Bianca Lopez with Smith & Associates represented the buyer.
“Given the intensity of development in the city of Tampa and the backlog of the city’s processing of fast and furious zoning applications — this closing is a testament as to how pre-zoning should go,” Ramos said in a release.
The property has a long history of unsuccessful development as developers have failed to forge a successful agreement with the neighboring Beach Park Homeowners Association prior to city submittal. According to a release, the buyer has met with the organization multiple times and “was successful in addressing all of the neighborhood’s concerns for future development.”
The variance was approved by city council on Sept. 1. |
