Automotive group buys Maserati of St. Petersburg for $6M

The Maserati of St. Petersburg dealership has sold in a $6 million deal.

The 13,401-square-foot car dealership at 3033 Gandy Blvd. in Pinellas Park was sold by Tampa Bay Luxury Imports LLC to Q Gandy LLC, according to a deed filed in Pinellas County. The sale closed on June 27. Q Gandy LLC is linked to the owners of Qvale Auto Group.

The group also took out a $5.1 million mortgage from Comerica Bank on June 27, according to county documents.

Qvale Auto Group has 15 franchises across the U.S., according to its website. Founded in 1947 by Kjell Qvale, the company said it was one of the first in the country to import European cars. In 2013, he passed the dealership down to his children. The company also owns Audi Lakeland and Volkswagen Brandon.

The dealership was built in 2016, according to the property appraiser, and last sold in January 2015 for $1.6 million.

Bruce Qvale, head of the company, has been focusing Qvale’s holdings in Florida and has spent the last year selling its California dealerships and properties. According to the San Francisco Business Times, the group sold its Jaguar Land Rover dealership on Van Ness Avenue in December 2021, the Livermore Auto Mall in July and its Jaguar Land Rover Stevens Creek Dealership franchises in March 2021.
