A South Florida investor has purchased a golf course in the Tampa suburbs.

Xude Hospitality, led by industry veteran Michael Miraglia, has acquired the Eagles Golf Club in Odessa, Leisure Investment Properties Group said Monday. Miraglia's group is planning upgrades for the property.

Steven Ekovich and Rob Waldron of Tampa-based LIPG represented the seller, Nittany Trails LLC, in the transaction.

LIPG did not disclose the sales price, and a deed has not yet been filed. Waldron said the property was listed at $3.75 million.

The 36-hole course spans 349 acres, and is also home to a 9,400-square-foot clubhouse. It is surrounded by the 1,300-unit Eagles Residential Community. The clubhouse includes a golf shop, restaurant, 150-seat banquet space and enclosed and outdoor patios for dining.

The sellers — private investors based in Leesburg and suburban Pittsburgh — bought the property out of bankruptcy in 2011 for $3.2 million, according to Hillsborough County property records.

"We are excited to be the new stewards of such a great 36-hole property in a market we are very familiar with," Miraglia said in a statement, "and look forward to investing the needed capital to improve the facilities and the courses for all players in the Tampa Bay market."
