Amazon delivery station in Gibsonton sells for $55 million

An Amazon delivery station in Gibsonton has sold to Miami investors for $55.6 million.

The 112,000-square-foot, newly built warehouse in the Tampa Regional Industrial Park sold in late March, according to Hillsborough County property records. The seller was the park's developer, Duke Realty.

The purchase price breaks down to $496 per square foot. The price per square foot is believed to be record or near-record pricing for an industrial property in the Tampa market, industry observers said.

"Delivery station" is Amazon's term for its last-mile facilities — the last stop a product makes before it's delivered to a consumer.

A team from Cushman & Wakefield Inc. — Mike Davis, Rick Brugge, Rick Colon and Dominic Montazemi with support from Zachary Eicholtz and Kayla Hankins — represented Duke in the transaction.

"As has been the case with similar offerings, investor interest was robust for this property,” Davis said in a statement. “The popularity of this offering along with South East Tampa's logistics advantage positions the property now and well into the future."

The site includes room for more development, whether through a 44,000-square-foot addition to the existing facility or the construction of an additional 198,000-square-foot warehouse.
