Building materials supplier signs warehouse lease in East Tampa

A building materials supplier is expanding its Tampa presence with a new warehouse lease in East Tampa.

Builders FirstSource Inc. will lease 104,247 square feet at 1820 Massaro Blvd. It’s the company’s sixth location, and the expansion was driven by the addition of a building supplies division, said Jessica Mizrahi, director at Cushman and Wakefield Inc., who represented Builders FirstSource in the lease transaction.

Robyn Hurrell and Oliver de la Croix-Vaubois of Colliers represented the landlord.

The BuildersFirst lease will backfill a space vacated by Refresco Beverages in 2020. Gopher Resources LLC took a portion of that space in 2021. With the signing of this lease, the 411,662-square-foot property is now fully occupied.

Builders FirstSource required a cross-dock building to accommodate the direct transfer of goods between incoming and outbound trucks.

“Massaro is only one of a small handful of vintage buildings in a cross-dock configuration in the East Tampa submarket,” Hurrell said in a statement, “and was the only vacancy in its asset class available at the time the lease was signed.”

Builders FirstSource will move in the first quarter of 2022.
