Sparkman Wharf signs 'high intensity' Pilates studio, spa and wellness concept

Two new wellness concepts will open at Sparkman Wharf in 2022.

Developer Strategic Property Partners says it has signed deals with Bodyrok, a "high intensity" Pilates studio, and The Covery, a "wellness and self-care studio." Both concepts are opening their first Florida locations at Sparkman Wharf.

SPP, controlled by Tampa Bay Lightning owner Jeff Vinik and Cascade Investment LLC, did not disclose the exact location or square footage of either concept. Sparkman Wharf, formerly known as Channelside Bay Plaza, is the southern anchor of the $3 billion-plus Water Street Tampa. It is home to functional training studio F45, Industrious coworking space and several restaurants and retailers.

Health and wellness are anchor concepts at Water Street, the world's first-ever WELL Certified neighborhood. Similar to LEED Certification, WELL Certification puts wellness specifications on real estate developments, with criteria such as fitness programming and water bottle refilling stations.

Bodyrok will offer 45-minute classes that combine cardio exercise and strength training on custom Pilates reformers. The Covery offers IV infusions, salt-infused saunas, facials and more.

SPP says it has signed 32 retail leases at Water Street to date, including grocer GreenWise Market and national and local restaurant concepts. More than 60% of the retail space in the first phase is devoted to food and beverage concepts.
