Barry's, a Los Angeles-based fitness chain that offers high-intensity interval classes, will open its first Tampa Bay location in Hyde Park Village.

The fitness chain on Tuesday received a permit to build out a 4,500-square-foot studio at 1514 W. Swann Ave., in the same block where Nike Inc. will open its Nike Live concept later this year. Construction costs are pegged at $900,000, according to city permits.

WS Development, the Boston-based developer of Hyde Park Village, confirmed the Barry's location in a news release Friday and said the studio will open in 2022. Barry's classes are a mix of 25- to 30-minute treadmill intervals and 25- to 30-minute strength sessions.

Barry's is the second cult fitness brand to open its first Tampa Bay location in Hyde Park Village. In 2019, SoulCycle opened its first indoor cycling studio in Hyde Park.

WS also announced Friday that eyewear brand Warby Parker, which has locations in Tampa's Oxford Exchange and International Plaza, will open in the village as well. It will be next to Sephora on South Dakota Avenue, in a portion of the former Brooks Brothers space, and will also open in 2022.

It's also the latest in a recent spate of big gets for WS Development. Salad chain Sweetgreen has filed permits for a location in the village, and Nashville singer-songwriter Jessie James Decker will open her third Kittenish boutique there, too. The Candle Pour is expanding in the village and Brooklyn ice cream shop Oddfellows Ice Cream Co. has also recently signed a lease there.

Public Studio, a new concept from the developer of Hyde House, is also planning to open in the village.

“From new openings to exciting expansions and renovations, Hyde Park Village is experiencing incredible growth right now," Nicole Dee, the property's general manager, said in a statement. "These new updates and additions to the property reflect our commitment to serving the Tampa community with a wide range of best-in-class experiences, and we are so proud to partner with each of these brands."
