Sweetgreen, the salad chain with a cult following, is coming to Tampa.

Los Angeles-based Sweetgreen has filed plans with the city to build out a storefront in Hyde Park Village adjacent to Salon Norrell Aveda. The storefront is just over 2,300 square feet and will have indoor and outdoor seating.

A spokeswoman for WS Development, which owns Hyde Park Village, declined comment Thursday.

WS Development has brought several new concepts to Tampa since embarking on a multimillion-dollar redevelopment of Hyde Park Village in 2015. A new Nike concept will open in the village this year; it also brought the city's first Sur La Table, bartaco, Paper Source and Sprinkles bakery.

Sweetgreen filed for a confidential initial public offering in June. The chain, launched in 2007 in Washington, D.C., has more than 100 locations across the U.S.
