Workscapes readies new Ybor showroom for opening

Workscapes Inc. is putting the finishing touches on its new home in Ybor City.

The office furniture dealer and designer signed a deal in late 2020 to move its showroom and last-mile fulfillment center from downtown Tampa to a warehouse on the fringe of Ybor.

Here's what you need to know about the space:

Big expansion: The new space is more than quadruple the size of Workscapes’ previous home in downtown Tampa. The downtown storefront was 7,700 square feet; the new location is 31,820 square feet.

Big investment: Workscapes Inc. is investing $1 million in its new digs.

Why it matters: Workscapes is among Tampa Bay's largest privately held companies with 2020 revenue of $59 million. Covid-19 forced most office-based employees to work from home for most of 2020 and 2021 — and remote work and hybrid options appear to be here to stay. But Tampa Bay's office market is thriving, with several major lease deals and investment sales completed in 2021, and Workscapes' new showroom and warehouse position it to capitalize on the activity.
