RETURN TO NEWS INDEX Tampa real estate executive Andrew Wright buys more Westshore property Tampa real estate executive Andrew Wright is growing his Westshore property portfolio.
An entity linked to Wright's Ally Capital paid $8.75 million for the 3-acre property at 1515 N. Westshore Blvd. in a deal that closed in late July, according to Hillsborough County property records. The site is home to a 16,820-square-foot 1960s office building. The seller was The Auto Club Group, also known as AAA.
The property is north of Westshore City Center, the office park formerly known as the Austin Center, which Ally Capital acquired in 2019. The group is in the process of renovating the property — a project that includes the addition of two new restaurants: Union New American and breakfast chain First Watch.
An office building owned by Highwoods Properties Inc. sits in between Westshore City Center and Ally Capital's newly acquired property.
Wright told the Tampa Bay Business Journal that Ally doesn't have any plans for the property but is evaluating the highest and best use.
"When it became available to us, we moved on it quickly," he said.
Westshore City Center has landed two significant office leases since Ally acquired it: The headquarters of Heritage Insurance, which was previously based in Clearwater, and Arizona College of Nursing. |
