The median sale price for single-family homes in Florida increased nearly 50% from 2015 to 2020, according to data from Florida Realtors. In the Tampa Bay area, this translates to an increase in the sale price of around $100,000 over that time.

Locally, Lakeland-Winter Haven prices jumped 59% over that same time, followed by Tampa-St. Petersburg-Clearwater at 57% and North Port-Sarasota-Bradenton at 40%.

North Port-Sarasota-Bradenton led the region with a median sale price of $334,895. However, this is well below the most expensive MSA, Naples-Immokalee-Marco Island, which had a median sale price of $498,500 in 2020.

The Tampa-St. Petersburg-Clearwater MSA continued to lead the state in the number of single-family home sales with 51,349 in 2020. This represents a 1.9% increase over 2019, despite a 19% and 33% decrease in sales in April and May, respectively. Combined, the Tampa Bay region accounted for approximately 26% of home sales in the state..
