RETURN TO NEWS INDEX Exclusive: Waterfront lot in Snell Isle hits the market at $16.8 million A double lot on the Snell Isle waterfront is listed for sale at $16.84 million — making it the highest-priced land listing on the market in St. Petersburg.
Robyn Gunn of Premier Sotheby’s International Realty’s St. Petersburg office is marketing the property, at 125 Bay Point Drive Northeast, for sale.
The property, which includes two lots within one parcel, is .72 acres and has sweeping views of both the St. Petersburg skyline and the open bay. It has 267 feet of bay frontage, Sotheby's said.
“This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for the discerning buyer who wants to custom-build the ultimate waterfront dream home," Gunn said in a statement. "There isn’t a comparable property — on or off the market — that showcases these spectacular views.”
The owner, the Richard W. Strefling Revocable Trust, paid $2.8 million for one of the lots in 2019; the other was purchased for $3.4 million in 2020, according to Pinellas County property records. Demolition permits to remove a single-family residence on the property were filed in June 2019, county records show.
Residential lot sales over $10 million are rare in Tampa and St. Petersburg. A double lot on Indian Shores Beach with 100 feet of frontage on the Gulf of Mexico sold for $2.63 million in late 2020. But interest in the Tampa Bay area — and its luxury real estate offerings — have never been higher. Miami Marlins owner Derek Jeter's Davis Islands home recently sold for the highest price ever paid for a Tampa Bay home; an estate on Lake Thonotosassa sold just weeks before that for $16.7 million.
