A majority of companies plan to increase office space post-pandemic

When the Covid-19 pandemic began, many companies transitioned to a work-from-home environment practically overnight. While some companies may opt to retain this setup, the majority of COOs surveyed in the most recent PwC US Pulse Survey reported that they expect to increase their office space, with 28 percent projecting an increase of more than 15 percent. However, one in five expect to decrease the amount of office space that they need over the next three years.

While the availability of a vaccine was the most frequent response to what would help build confidence in returning to the office, there were several other issues where respondents felt government policies could help. These include a government program to fund health care costs for workers diagnosed with Covid-19 and liability protection from spread of the virus in the workplace.
