Boca Tampa has closed

Boca Tampa, a longtime staple of South Tampa's dining scene, has closed.

A typed sign on the door at 901 W. Platt St. informs diners of the closure. Boutique National, a Tampa-based commercial real estate firm, has listed Boca's property for sale for $1.85 million.

"Rare opportunity to purchase an iconic restaurant property located in the heart of affluent South Tampa," reads the real estate listing. The building is 3,577 square feet on .22 acres and includes six onsite parking spaces, with additional 21 parking spaces on a leased adjacent lot. It's not known exactly when Boca closed or why. Chas Bruck, a partner in the restaurant's parent company BE-1 Concepts, was not available for comment Saturday morning.

Boca locations in Sarasota and Winter Park remain open; Boca's Instagram on Saturday said "this cooler weather is perfect for brunching outside on our patio" at the Sarasota location. On Thursday, the account promoted a new menu item, market fish tacos, at the Winter Park restaurant.

The Tampa location has been removed from BE-1's website. Boca's former Riverview location is now occupied by Donovan's Modern American Meatery, a new steakhouse concept from the owners of Datz.

Boca Sarasota received a $313,510 loan via the Paycheck Protection Program, according to data released this week by the U.S. Small Business Administration. The Riverview location received a PPP loan for $247,969.
