Midtown Tampa's dual-flag hotel will boast rooftop bar and restaurant Sal Y Mar, which is set to open next month.

Sal Y Mar (Salt and Sea) will have a dedicated elevator within the seven-story hotel, which will have both Aloft and Element flags. It will span 4,900 square feet of indoor and outdoor space.

Midtown Tampa is a 22-acre, mixed-use district under construction at the intersection of Interstate 275 and North Dale Mabry Highway. It is slated to open in early 2021 with apartments, retailers, fitness studios and restaurants. Concord Hospitality Enterprises, the hotel developer, announced Sal Y Mar on Tuesday, describing it as "rich in old-world influence" and inspired by Tulum, Mexico.

“As a new one-of-a-kind, neighborhood rooftop bar, I have no doubt Sal Y Mar will be one of our most popular spaces and will enhance the essence of Midtown Tampa,” Evette Torres, the general manager of both hotels, said in a statement. “We can’t wait to share our spectacular views and our passion for authentic, Latin-inspired cuisine and sensational cocktails with guests and the entire Midtown community. It’s going to be a truly fabulous space.”

The menu will include tapas — from citrus crab cakes and vegetable bruschetta, to more authentic Spanish treats such as carne asada street tacos and pan-seared scallops with mango puree, plantain crisp and pico de gallo — and an assortment of salads and entrees.
