RETURN TO NEWS INDEX Exclusive: Developer buys old mobile home park for big apartment project in Pinellas Park The property, at 7950 Park Blvd., was previously the site of Golden Lantern Mobile Home Park, which closed in 2006. LIV Development, based in Birmingham, Alabama, paid $9.2 million for the land in September, according to Pinellas County property records.
Nancy Surak, senior land adviser and managing broker for Land Advisors Organization Tampa Bay, represented the seller, Huntley Properties LLC.
“Outside of downtown St. Petersburg, Pinellas County is significantly under supplied for new residential housing. This project will deliver much-needed new, high-quality housing in the heart of Pinellas Park," Surak said in a statement.
The project is the latest apartment development to move forward in Tampa Bay, where the novel coronavirus pandemic barely paused the region's multifamily boom. New projects are being proposed and moving forward with construction, and investors and lenders are still pursuing properties here.
LIV recently broke ground on the 349-apartment project, and the first units will be delivered in the fourth quarter of 2021.
"Once completed, this project will revitalize the neighborhood and provide much-needed new housing options that will not only attract new residents and businesses, but further the continued investment into our growing community,” said Shannon Coughlin, economic development manager for the city of Pinellas Park. |
